These red split lentils are perfect for adding texture to soups, stews and casseroles for a sweet, nutty flavour. Cook over the hob, drain, rinse and use as required. No need to soak. High in fibre and protein.


Storage
Store in a cool, dry place. Once opened, peel off sticker and use to reseal pack.

Instructions
Boil - From Ambient. 25 MinsNo need to soak. Rinse thoroughly before cooking. Place 100g of lentils into a large saucepan with 500ml of water. Place the pan on the medium hob ring over a high heat. Bring to the boil for 10 mins. Reduce the heat to low and simmer for 15 mins, until the lentils have softened but are slightly firm to the bite. Drain thoroughly, rinse and use as required.Do not reheat.

In a medium size saucepan heat the vegetable oil over medium heat. Once the oil is hot add the onion, garlic & ginger. Cook, stirring often for 5 - 6 mins or until the onions are translucent2. Stirring constantly add broth, lentils, spices and salt. Bring to a low boil, then turn the heat to low, cover and simmer for about 20 mins or until lentils are tender.3. Stir in the tomato paste until well combined. Cook for several mins more.To Serve: Hot with flatbread and garnish with a dollop of dairy free natural yoghurt if desired.
